The blaze started on the 16th floor of the building and spread to other floors.

A fire broke out on the 16th floor of a commercial building in Central Kolkata on Thursday morning, PTI reported. No injuries have been reported so far.
It started around 10.20 am at the Jeevan Sudha building – better known as the LIC building – on Jawahar Lal Nehru Road and spread to other floors. Ten fire tenders were sent to the site. The blaze was doused by 4.20 pm.
The fire is believed to have started in the server room of the State Bank of India’s global market office on the 16th floor. However, officials have yet to ascertain the cause of the fire but they suspect an electrical short circuit.
SBI’s Chief General Manager PP Sengupta said no one was trapped on the floor.
