McDonald’s apologises after customer finds ‘cockroach legs’ in his coffee in Thailand
The patron said that when the Bangkok outlet’s staff poured him another cup of coffee, there seemed to be even more cockroach legs in it.
United States-based fast food chain McDonald’s apologised on Thursday after a customer in Bangkok complained about what looked like “cockroach legs” floating in his coffee. The company apologised after a Facebook user who calls himself Nostalgic Eik posted a picture of the coffee with the “cockroach legs” floating in it.
The user said that when he saw the coffee, he thought the “cockroach legs” might have been in the cup before the drink was poured. He thus asked a staff member to replace the cup. But when the staff poured him another cup of coffee, there seemed to be even more cockroach legs in it.
On Thursday, McDonald’s Thailand posted a statement on Facebook apologising for the incident, and promised that its employees would follow the company’s safety standards. The fast food chain also said that the outlet manager apologised to the customer who complained and provided him a fresh cup of coffee. McDonald’s also said that the employees at the Bangkok outlet had cleaned the coffee maker following the incident.
