Odisha: Three youth detained for allegedly raping a student on college campus
The girl told the police that her attackers recorded the incident and threatened to make the video public if she spoke about it.
Three minors were detained for allegedly raping a girl on the campus of a college in Malkangiri in Odisha on November 9, The Hindu reported on Sunday.
In her complaint to the police, the girl said the trio attacked her when she went to attend practical classes in the college. They allegedly took her to a secluded spot, raped her and recorded the incident on their mobile phones. She claimed they had threatened to upload the video on social media and attack her family members if she spoke about it.
“I want them to be punished... I don’t want this to happen to any other girl,” she told Odisha TV.
The police inspector at the Maithili station said the complainant had identified all the accused, but he did not give out details as all three are minors.
