A state-level shooter was arrested for allegedly firing shots at her mother and brother at their South Delhi home in Defence Colony on Thursday night, The Hindu reported.

The police said Sangeeta Singh, 47, was drunk when she fired the shots. She shot at them after a heated argument, the police said, according to the Hindustan Times. “A property dispute could have led to the incident,” an unidentified police officer told the newspaper.

The police said Singh’s mother and brother were out of danger. Romil Baaniya, the deputy commissioner (south) of Delhi Police, told The Hindu that the police have seized her pistol and may cancel the licence.

Singh’s father told the police that she was under medication for depression. “Sangeeta has participated in state-level events as a shooter,” said Baaniya, quoting Singh’s father. “She also used to run an adventure tourism organisation. But, over the past year, she stopped going for her shooting practice sessions, or even socialising.”
