Mumbai: Four dead, seven injured after fire breaks out in a residential building in Marol
The blaze was brought under control around 5 am.
At least four people were killed after a fire broke out on Wednesday night in a residential building in Mumbai’s Marol locality in Andheri suburb, ANI reported.
Seven people who were injured were being treated at Holy Spirit Hospital. Two children, aged 10 and 14, and an 80-year-old were among those killed, according to The Times of India.
The blaze was reported at around 2 am in the Maimuna Building in Bohra Colony in Andheri East, IANS quoted Brihanmumbai Municipal Commission’s Disaster Control department as saying. It was brought under control around 5 am after five fire engines and water tankers were sent to the spot.

The fire comes a week after a major fire broke out at a restaurant in Kamala Mills compound in the city which claimed 14 lives. Two managers of 1Above restaurant were arrested on charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
On December 18, twelve workers were killed inside a snacks shop in Mumbai’s Andheri area after they were trapped in a fire.
