Haryana: School principal allegedly rapes Class 10 student after promising to help her clear exams
The accused reportedly made another student write the 16-year-old’s physical education paper.
The Haryana Police have booked a school principal for allegedly raping a 16-year-old student after promising to help her clear the Class 10 board examination in Sonipat district’s Gohana city, The Times of India reported on Wednesday.
The incident took place on Tuesday when the principal, who also owns the school, made another student write the 16-year-old’s physical education paper and took her to a house on the outskirts of the city. With the help of two other women, he raped the girl, the police said.
Based on a complaint by the girl’s father, the police booked the principal and two women under sections of the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act. The two women were booked for criminal conspiracy, the police said, adding that all three have been on the run since Tuesday night.
The father had struck a deal with the principal, according to which he would ensure the girl passed the exam for Rs 10,000. “On March 8, the principal called me and my daughter to a school on the outskirts of Gohana,” the girl’s father told the police. “The principal then asked me to leave my daughter at his relative’s place. He said another girl would write my daughter’s exam.”
He added that the principal told him to pick up his daughter after the exam was finished. However, when he returned to pick her up, the girl told him that the principal had raped her.
