Eleven people were taken into custody for questioning in Samastipur where clashes were reported on Tuesday during a Durga immersion procession in Rosera town, Superintendent of Police Deepak Ranjan said. BJP leaders Dinesh Jha and Mohan Patwa were among those detained on the basis of video footage of the incident, IANS reported.
In Rosera town, members of two communities had allegedly thrown stones at each other near a mosque and set vehicles on fire. Two senior police personnel were injured. The police later brought the situation under control, and prohibitory orders were issued.
