Unidentified assailants shot Punjabi singer Parmish Verma and his friend on Friday night, IANS reported. The singer is currently hospitalised in Mohali and is said to be out of danger.

Verma was travelling with a friend in his car when the incident took place. Mohali Senior Superintendent of Police Kuldeep Chahal told India Today that the singer received a bullet injury on his leg. A case has been registered in the matter.

The singer rose to fame with his song Gaal Nahi Kadni.
