Bangladesh: Assailants kill Awami League leader outside a mosque in Dhaka
The ruling party’s general secretary, Farhad Ali, was heading home after Friday prayers when he was shot dead.
Two unidentified assailants shot dead Farhad Ali, general secretary of Bangladesh’s ruling Awami League party, in Dhaka’s Badda on Friday, Dhaka Tribune reported. Ali had just left the Baitus Salam Jame Mosque after Friday prayers when the attackers shot him.
Ali sustained bullet injuries to his chest and head, the newspaper reported.
The assailants fled the site on a motorbike, Badda Police Station Inspector Nazrul Islam said. The police are searching for the attackers.
