Three injured in grenade explosion at Kupwara
The district in north Jammu and Kashmir has faced a slew of attacks this month.
Three soldiers were injured after suspected militants hurled a grenade at an Indian army bunker in the frontier district of Kupwara in Jammu and Kashmir. Several vehicles were also damaged, reports said. Army officials cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to locate the attackers.
There has been a series of attacks on the army in Jammu and Kashmir in the last few weeks. On October 4, four soldiers were killed during a gun battle near the town of Handwara in the Kupwara district, while a militant was killed in a separate encounter in the region. A police officer died of injuries sustained in an attack in the adjacent Bandipora district on October 7.
