Senior Indian National Lok Dal leader Dushyant Chautala has filed a defamation case against Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij for alleging that Chautala was taking drugs, PTI reported on Saturday. Chautala, an MP from Hisar, said he had never taken drugs in his life.

The Indian National Lok Dal leader filed the criminal complaint in the court of the chief judicial magistrate in Hisar, saying that the allegations made by the minister were false and baseless. He said the allegations were made with mala fide intentions to mislead the public.

In a statement issued on April 3, Vij had claimed that Chautala was taking drugs and that he should go to some rehabilitation centre. His statement came after Chautala alleged various scams in the health department under him.
