At least 10 people were killed in a suicide bombing in Afghanistan’s Jalalabad city on Tuesday, Reuters reported. No militant group has yet claimed responsibility.

Government officials said a suicide bomber detonated explosives near a petrol pump, setting ablaze eight cars and damaging the petrol bunk. Provincial health department spokesperson Inamullah Miakhel confirmed the toll and said four people sustained injuries in the attack.

Provincial Council member Sohrab Qaderi said: “Most of the victims are children, who were working at a car wash close to the suicide bombing site.”

The Nangarhar provincial governor’s spokesperson said two of the casualties were security personnel, Al Jazeera reported.

The incident follows a bombing in the city on July 1 that killed 12 people.
