Harsh Vardhan Shringla, India’s US envoy, appointed next foreign secretary
He will replace Vijay Gokhale on January 29, and will have a term of two years.
India’s Ambassador to the United States Harsh Vardhan Shringla was appointed the next foreign secretary on Monday, NDTV reported.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved the posting. Shringla will take charge on January 29, 2020, for two years. He will replace Vijay Gokhale. Shringla is a 1984-batch Indian Foreign Service officer.
