Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani director Ayan Mukerji’s upcoming film will be a fantasy adventure franchise starring Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. Titled Brahmastra, the film will be produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and presented by Fox Star Studios. The title refers to the powerful weapon created by the god Brahma. The announcement coincides with Bachchan’s 75th birthday.

The first part of the franchise will be released on August 15, 2019. The film was earlier rumoured to have been titled Dragon, and was supposed to have a superhero them. Johar later clarified that a new title was underway.
