The long-awaited biopic on Telegu superstar-turned-politician Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, popularly known as NTR, will officially be launched at Hyderabad’s Ramakrishna Studios on Thursday. Directed by Teja, NTR will star the Telugu icon’s son Nandamuri Balakrishna in the lead. A report suggested that Balakrishna will be seen in close to 62 avatars in the Telugu-Hindi bilingual. Details of the project and the rest of the cast are still under wraps.

After a successful film career, NTR entered politics after forming the Telugu Desam Party in 1985. He served as Andhra Pradesh chief minister for seven years.
Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has also planned a biopic on the actor-politician, titled Lakshmi’s NTR, ostensibly from the perspective of the politician’s second wife, Lakshmi Parvathi. Varma released a posterof the film on September 27 last year. However, the status of the project is unclear.
