In the trailer for Shashanka Ghosh’s female friendship comedy Veere Di Wedding, released on Wednesday, four best friends navigate the tricky (and often frustrating) world of marriages and relationships. “No matter how educated you are, whether you do your graduation or post-graduation, you’ve achieved nothing until you become a wife,” Sonam Kapoor’s character rues to her friends. Soon after, Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Kalindi announces that she is getting married, but seems less then excited by the prospect.
Produced by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures and Anil Kapoor Film Company, Veere Di Wedding also stars Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania. The movie will be released on June 1.
Ghosh has earlier made Waisa Bhi Hota Hai Part II (2003), Quick Gun Murugan (2009), Mumbai Cutting (2010) and Khoobsurat (2014). This is Kapoor-Khan’s first film in two years. She was last seen in Abhishek Chaubey’s Udta Punjab (2016).
