The third Sherlock Holmes movie will be released on Christmas Day in 2020, producers Warner Bros and Village Roadshow Pictures announced on Monday. While Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law will return to the roles of Sherlock Holmes and John Watson respectively, a director has not yet been announced.
The 2009 movie Sherlock Holmes and the 2011 sequel Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows were both directed by Guy Ritchie.
Written by Chris Brancato (Hannibal, Narcos), Sherlock Holmes 3 will clash with the animated musical Sing 2. James Cameron’s Avatar 2 will be released on December 18, 2020.
