A new video stitches together about dance scenes from around 300 movies into one seven-minute compilation. Set to the songs Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go by Wham!, Tongues by Joywave, and the English and German versions of Nena’s 99 Red Balloons, the video features characters dancing with varying degrees of skill, confidence and excitement. The compilation, titled “Dancing in Movies”, was uploaded by CLS Videos.
The mash-up includes iconic dance sequences from Sound of Music (1965), Belle and the Beast waltzing in Beauty and the Beast (1991), Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio kicking up their heels in Titanic (1997), Ewen McGregor and Nicole Kidman jiving in Moulin Rouge! (2001), and Ryan Gosling with Emma Stone in La La Land (2016).
Several awkward dances also make the cut, including Hugh Grant’s moves in Love Actually (2003) and Kiera Knightley and Mark Ruffalo on the streets of New York in Begin Again (2013).
Snippets from The Big Lebowski (1998), Eyes Wide Shut (1999), Princess Diaries (2001), Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005), Slumdog Millionaire (2008) and Black Swan (2010) are also included.
