The Creed II trailer that was released on Wednesday sees the return of Michael B Jordan as Adonis Creed and Sylvester Stallone as Rocky Balboa, his coach. In the movie, a sequel to the box office hit Creed (2015), Adonis takes on Viktor Drago, the son of the Russian boxer Ivan Drago who killed his father, Apollo Creed, in the ring in Rocky IV (1985). Rocky avenged the death of his best friend in the movie, and in the Creed sequel, it’s Adonis’s turn to take his revenge.
Ryan Coogler, whose intelligent direction propelled Creed to box office glory, has been replaced by Steven Caple Jr in the sequel. Tessa Thompson returns as Adonis’s partner, Bianca, while Viktor Drago is played by real-life boxer Florian Munteanu.
The movie will be released on November 21.
