Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjana Sanghi are huddled together in the first look of the untitled Hindi remake of Josh Boone’s The Fault In Our Stars (2014). The Fox Star India production marks the filmmaking debut of casting director Mukesh Chhabra.

The 2014 Hollywood film, starring Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort, was an adaptation of John Green’s bestselling young adult novel tracing the romance between two teenagers battling cancer.

Sanghi plays the role of Hazel Grace Lancaster, who is diagnosed with terminal thyroid cancer. This is Sanghi’s first appearance in a starring role. She has earlier appeared in small roles in Rockstar (2011), Hindi Medium (2017) and Fukrey Returns (2017).

In a press statement, Rajput said, “I and Mukesh share a great bond. He gave me my first film [Kai Po Che, where Chhabra was casting director] and I promised him that I would definitely be in his.”

The film’s production is underway. AR Rahman has reportedly been signed on as the film’s music composer.
