The release date of the Kajol-starrer Helicopter Eela has been advanced from September 14 to September 7, the producers announced today. Also starring Riddhi Sen, Neha Dhupia and Tota Roy Chowdhary, the film has been directed by Pradeep Sarkar.

The film follows the life of a single mother (Kajol) who aspires to become a singer. Riddhi Sen, who won the National Film Award for Best Actor for his performance in Kaushik Ganguly’s Bengali film Nagarkirtan (2017), plays Eela’s son.

Written by Anand Gandhi (Ship of Theseus) and Mitesh Shah, Helicopter Eela is an adaptation of Gandhi’s Gujarati play Beta Kaagdo. The film has been co-produced by Ajay Devgn FFilms, and Jayantilal Gada’s Pen India Limited.
