At the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali on Sunday were twenty-two cricket players and over 20,00 cheering fans. Australia's Shane Watson was playing his last international match and put in a performance to be proud of.

But when the spotlights were switched on, only one man took centre-stage: Virat Kohli, unstoppable, unyielding... and undefeated.

Ridiculously enough, he did it again. All on his own.

For 17 overs of India's chase of 161, Australia reigned. Thirty-nine runs were required off the final 18 balls. It was a difficult pitch to bat on. India's chances of a semi-final finish were fading fast.

And then Kohli happened. No, don't read this. Scroll up. Watch the video. Marvel at how he smashed six fours and an astonishing six (over extra-cover, no less). Watch it again. And over again, because the more you watch it, the better it gets.

As always, Mahendra Singh Dhoni hit the winning runs. Kohli went down on his haunches. He was emotional. Perhaps even he was surprised at just how good he was.

Then as Kohli slowly went back, all of his team-mates came running up. Harbhajan Singh picked him up. There was awe on almost everyone's face as a tired Kohli trooped back after a knock that many of us will never really forget.
