They suspect a short circuit. The outcome, as the video above reveals, is the charred remains of the structure where a fire broke out early Thursday morning in Juhu Galli, Andheri West, Mumbai.

A narrow building, a medical store on the ground floor, families living in constricted spaces on the first and second floors, no fire safety considerations. Blazes like these are just waiting to erupt.

The nine people, five of them children, who died can't have known a fire would break out early in the morning. The victims were taken to the nearby Cooper Hospital.

"Our fire brigade team received a call at 6.15 am and we rushed three fire tenders, one water tanker and two ambulances to the spot," an official said, according to this report by the The Indian Express.
