Motorbikes, cycles, bullock-carts: Watch the hot wheels some MPs and MLAs use to go to work in
Not every lawmaker needs slick transportation.
Politics and the Indian film industry are inextricably linked together. Shatrughan Sinha, Govinda, Hema Malini and Jayalalitha are just a few of the actors who have had a successful transition to the political sphere. But sometimes they are also influenced by the swag and style portrayed in the movies. From Ajay Devgn in Phool Aur Kaante (1991) to Rinku Rajguru in Sairat (2016).
The video above shows five times Indian MPs decided to alter their work commute. They used India's version of a Harley, the Royal Enfield and the cycle. For still more effect (perhaps as a show of solidarity with Indian farmers), they've even showed up at Parliament in a tractor. Sometimes they go eco-friendly and use no-pollution vehicles – the cow and the horse (also used to protest against Arvind Kejriwal's odd-even policy).

By no means, however, is this a recent trend. Here's Atal Bihar Vajpayee in 1973.

Below is a video from AP's archives showing Indira Gandhi, then India's Prime Minister, riding to work on a horse-driven carriage through the streets of the capital.
