About two weeks ago, Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft, made a quip about Apple’s iPads during a press event in India, telling two journalists using iPads, “You need to get a real computer, my friend.”

Apple has just released a new advertisement for their iPad Pro, equipped with iOS 11, that is being perceived as a clever comeback to Nadella’s comment. It forecasts the end of computers as we know them. (But hey, Apple, does that include the Mac?)

The advertisement (above) shows off the the versatility of the iPad and its ease of use. And at the end, a neighbour asks the young “hipster” woman who has been running her life with her iPad, “Hey, whatcha doing on your computer?” To which the girl responds, “What’s a computer?”

It may not have been planned as a comeback to Nadella, but the timing is good.

An Apple advertisement from more than a year ago seems to have been building up to this moment, as it pitched the idea “This is where we think personal computing is going.” Watch:
