How would politicians answer questions as call centre employees? Watch this comedy sketch
Both jobs involve servicing the needs of the (sometimes unhappy) public.
Are politicians solving your problems? Would you like a chance to pitch your complaints to them directly? (Assuming you have the patience to be put on hold for a long time.)
This comedy sketch imagines India’s top politicians – not every convincingly in terms of appearance, but that’s not the point – being put in what should be a difficult situation for some of them: addressing people’s complaints directly.
From the Narendra Modi to Rahul Gandhi, from Shashi Tharoor to Adityanath, from Smriti Irani to Arvind Kejriwal, the jokes are somewhat predictable. But the point is well-made: that politicians do not seem particularly tuned to addressing individuals’ grievances.
