The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has finally released an official notification for the Combined Graduate Level Exam (CGL) 2018. The CGL 2018 Tier I exam is scheduled to be held from July 25th to August 20th, 2018, while the last date to apply is June 4th and it must be done on the SSC website, ssconline.nic.in.

Tier I and Tier II of the SSC CGL 2018 exam will be computer-based tests, while Tier III is a descriptive paper and will be conducted in pen and paper mode, and Tier IV will consist of a computer proficiency test/skill test/document verification. The dates for the Tier II, Tier III and Tier IV of the SSC CGL exam will be revealed later, according to the official SSC notification.

The 2018 SSC CGL exam will be conducted to fill Group B and Group C posts in various departments of the Government of India. The posts covered by the CGL 2018 exam include Assistant Accounts Officer, Assistant Section Officer, Inspector of Income Tax, Assistant Enforcement Officer, Sub Inspector and Junior Statistical Officer, among others.

The SSC CGL 2018 exam notification was initially expected to be released on April 21st, but the release was postponed, which was believed to be because of a delay in the CGL 2017 Tier III exam. In fact, delays hit other tirs of the 2017 exam too. Candidates had to sit for a re-exam of the CGL 2017 Tier II paper because of a paper leak.
