Bihar NEET 2018: Second round to begin from tomorrow; detailed schedule to be published today
The Bihar UGMAC 2018 second round of counselling was put on hold due to an earlier Madras High Court verdict.
BCECE will begin the second round of 2018 Bihar Undergraduate Medical Admission Counselling (UGMAC) from August 11th. The BCECE was expected to release the detailed schedule of the counselling on August 9th evening but it is now expected to release the schedule today, August 10th, at 8 pm.
The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) which conducts the UGMAC counselling had started the NEET counselling process and registration for the state on June 22nd. The first round of counselling began on June 29th and went on until July 5th.
The second round of counselling had to be delayed across all institutes who conduct counselling via NEET due to a verdict by Madras High Courts’ Madurai Bench on giving grace marks to all candidates who had attempted the NEET exam in Tamil language due to ambiguous translations from English. The court also asked CBSE to redraft the merit list and to pause all the NEET counseling process.
The verdict was challenged by the CBSE in Supreme Court which asked the institutes to continue with the counselling process and asked CBSE to come up with a reasonable solution for the candidates who had given the exam in Tamil.
Various institutes which conduct admissions based on NEET like MCC and UP NEET counselling agency have started the process for the second round of counselling. All candidates who have registered for the Bihar NEET counselling are suggest to check the BCECEB website for latest updates.
