The Indian women's archery team bowed out of the Rio Olympics on Sunday after losing a tightly fought quarter-final to world champions Russia after a shoot-off. Both teams won two sets each, which meant the match would be decided by a shoot-off, where each archer shot once. While Russia managed a score of 25 in the shoot-off, India could only get 23.
The Indian archers – Deepika Kumari, Bombayla Devi Laishram and Laxmirani Majhi – are also contesting in the individual event. Earlier in the day, the Indian team beat Colombia by five set points to three in their round of 16 clash.
