Royal Challengers Bangalore may still have 19-year-old prodigy Sarfaraz Khan for the better part of the Indian Premier League 10 campaign.

The Mumbai-based batsman, who suffered an injury during a practice session was initially ruled out for the rest of the season. However, the India Under-19 cricketer took to Instagram to announce that he would recover in 12 days with a photo of his bandaged knee, reported Indian Express on Wednesday.

However, the image cannot be seen on his Instagram account anymore.

Khan was spotted being stretched off the nets after suffering a knee injury, and coach Daniel Vettori had ruled him out of the tournament altogether, “Owing to a leg injury during the final Bangalore based practice match session, Sarfaraz Khan will most likely be unavailable to play as a part of the RCB squad this IPL and we are evaluating the same with the BCCI,” Vettori said.

This may well be a welcome boost to the injury-hit RCB side, who have skipper Virat Kohli out for the first two weeks atleast. South African batting maestro AB de Villiers will also be sitting out of his side’s tournament opener at Hyderabad. Another batsman, KL Rahul won’t take part in the tournament after suffering a shoulder injury, which requires surgery.
