West Bengal’s Mehuli Ghosh continued her rich vein of form to claim two gold medals in 10m air rifle at Delhi’s Dr. Karni Shooting Range in the 18th KSS Memorial Shooting Championship on Monday. The 17-year-old bagged gold in both the Senior and Junior category.

In the senior category, Ghosh who had topped the qualifications chart on Sunday with a stunning score of 632.7 shot a strong 250.5 ahead of Karnataka’s Megana (249.9) and Madhya Pradesh’s Shreya Agarwal (228.3). The teen, coached by Olympian Joydeep Karmakar, had won the junior mixed team silver on Saturday.

The 2018 Commonwealth Games medalist scored 252.1 in the juniors and used her experience to edge out C Kavi Rakshna (250.8) of Tamil Nadu. Elavenil Valarivan, who won the gold at the ISSF Junior World Cup in Sydney this year, bagged the bronze with a score of 229.1. The 18-year-old, who had shot a then world record qualification score of 631.4 in Sydney in March, had finished fourth in the qualification with a score of 627.1.

The senior team category saw another Manini Kaushik combine with Simrat Chahal and Barkha to bring home another team gold for Rajasthan. In second place, Gujarat’s Valarivan, Lajja Goswami and Hema KC fought to finish with silver while Punjab’s Anjum Moudgil partnered experienced Avneet and Samiksha to claim a bronze medal.

In the Youth category, Maharashtra’s Nupur Patil shot 250 to emerge triumphant while Haryana’s Nischal Singh claimed silver with a score of 248.7 and Madhya Pradesh’s Yana Rathore clinched the third spot with a score of 227.2.
