A two-member panel appointed by the Delhi government refused to give a tax reprieve to the Delhi & District Cricket Association on Tuesday and recommended its suspension following corruption allegations. The panel also pointed out that the Board of Control for Cricket in India had been unable to convince them that there were no irregularities within the DDCA. It went on to recommend that the association should be replaced with a body of professional cricketers. Furthermore, the panel said that sports bodies such as the DDCA should be brought under the purview of the Right to Information Act.

On November 10, former Delhi cricketers, led by Bishan Singh Bedi, had met Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal alleging widespread corruption and financial irregularities in the district association, reported ESPNcricinfo. Going by Tuesday's developments, Delhi looks set to lose hosting rights for the fourth Test match of the ongoing India-South Africa series, which was scheduled to be held at the Feroz Shah Kotla from December 3. The BCCI had given the DDCA a deadline of November 17 to get its house in order. Now, it seems likely that the venue will be shifted to Pune.
