No explosives found in car seized outside Indian Consulate in Herat, says envoy
Earlier, Times Now had reported that security forces in the Afghan city had seized an explosive-laden vehicle and arrested one terrorist.
Indian Ambassador to Afghanistan Amar Sinha said on Friday that an earlier report of security forces seizing an explosive-laden vehicle outside the Indian Consulate in Herat, Afghanistan, was wrong. He said that experts did not find traces of explosives in the vehicle, ANI reported. Earlier, Times Now had reported that a possible terror attack had been foiled by the Afghan forces and one terrorist was arrested.
Sinha had earlier told ANI, "This was not an explosive-rigged car, but a car which was transporting explosives." He added that the motive behind the attempted attack was being ascertained by the authorities and security has been increased in the area.
