Five low intensity improvised explosive devises were detonated in different parts of Assam’s Tinsukia and Charaido districts on Monday morning, PTI reported. However, no casualties were reported. The attacks are suspected to be the orchestrated by United Liberal Front of Assam (Independent) militants.

Superintendent of Police AP Tiwari said the one of the five blasts took place at a deserted area in Charaideo district. Of the four explosions in Tinsukia, the first one went off near Indira Gandhi School on the outskirts of the district headquarters. The second and third blast took place in Doomdooma area while the fourth one exploded at Gamtumati in Philobari area.

Meanwhile, three security personnel and two girls were injured after two bomb blasts rocked Imphal in Manipur amid heightened security, IANS reported. The blasts – one in Tera and the other at Singjamei – dampened the celebratory mood. Imphal has seen a series of blasts in the past few days.
