Students at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Bhopal threw ink at Health Minister JP Nadda during his visit to the campus on Saturday, reported dna. The students were protesting against the lack of facilities at the institute, which they claimed have been neglected for the past 13 years. Nadda's car reportedly ran over the feet of two students while it was trying to evade the protestors. The Times of India reported.

The institute's officials allegedly stopped around 50 medical students who wanted to meet the minister and share their grievances about the facilities. The protestors started shouting slogans but the minister's car reportedly drove past them. Hindustan Times reported that the police used mild force to get the students to vacate the site. Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana joint secretary, Sunil Sharma said a probe into the incident has been ordered. The injured students reportedly suffered minor injuries.

According to the Hindustan Times report, Nadda is the fourth Union health minister to visit the the autonomous institute in 13 years. He inaugurated five facilities, including two new wards, pharmacy, high-dependency unit, blood bank storage and a maternity ward, during his visit.
