Kashmir: Separatist leader Asiya Andrabi released from Srinagar jail on bail
The pro-Pakistan leader was booked under the Public Safety Act in May 2017 for alleged ‘separatist activities’.
Separatist leader Asiya Andrabi was released from a Srinagar jail on Monday, IANS reported. Andrabi is the chief of the women’s separatist group Dukhtaran-e-Milat, or Daughters of Faith.
The pro-Pakistan leader has been in jail since May, for alleged separatist activities. On Monday, Andrabi and her secretary Fahmeeda Sofi, who was also booked in May under the Public Safety Act, were released on bail, The Greater Kashmir quoted a spokesperson from the outfit as saying.
Both women were sent to the Amphalla jail in Jammu then. But in August, the Jammu and Kashmir High Court quashed the order against them. The women were shifted to the Central Jail Srinagar in connection with another case, the Rising Kashmir reported.
