The India Meteorological Department on Sunday warned of thunderstorms in Delhi and other states in northern India for three days. Gusty winds are likely on Sunday, while squalls will accompany the thunderstorms on Monday and Tuesday, the weather agency predicted.

The IMD predicted thunderstorms at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi on the three days. Parts of West Bengal, Odisha, the North East, Tamil Nadu and Kerala will also see thunderstorms and gusty winds.

Dust storms are likely in parts of Rajasthan on Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Rainfall is expected in parts of Himachal Pradesh till Tuesday, while light rain and thunder showers are likely to increase in intensity in Punjab after Sunday, ANI reported.

On Friday too, the IMD had forecast thunderstorms, squalls and heavy winds in several states for three to four days.

More than 115 people died and dozens were injured in squalls and sandstorms in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday evening. At least 10 died in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh following heavy rain on Thursday. Many people were also injured in these states, as well as in Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana.
