The Marathi movie Nude has received an adults only certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification without any cuts, director Ravi Jadhav tweeted on Thursday. “The entire CBFC special jury team headed by Mrs Vidya Balan gave us a standing ovation! Thank you everyone for your kind support,” Jadhav tweeted.

Nude explores the stories of women who pose for art students. The movie stars Chhaya Bhutkar, Kalyanee Mulay and Om Bhutkar. A release date has not yet been announced.

Nude was selected as the opening film of the Indian Panorama section at the International Film Festival of India last year, but was dropped from the line-up after the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting overruled the festival jury’s decision. “When we send our films for a festival, we hope that the renowned experts in the committee will appreciate them,” Jadhav had told Scroll.in in November last year, after Nude was dropped from the IFFI line-up. “Jury members spent a lot of time and effort on watching hundreds of films before making their selection. What should I do the next time – should I send my film directly to the ministry?”
