Salman Khan’s production Loveratri, which marks the debut of his brother-in-law Aayush Sharma and Warina Hussain, has been renamed Loveyatri, the actor announced today through Twitter. The renaming is being seen as a response to protests by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad over the similarities between the film’s title and the Hindu festival Navratri, as well as a petition filed against the movie in a court in Bihar.

The Muzaffarpur District Court in Bihar recently ordered a First Information Report to be filed against “Salman Khan and 7 other actors” on the basis of a complaint filed by an advocate, which alleged that the film’s title “hurts Hindu sentiments”.

Directed by Abhiraj Minawala, Loveyatri follows the romance that develops between the characters played by Aayush Sharma, who is married to Salman Khan’s sister, Arpita, and Warina Hussain over the nine-day Navratri festival. The film is set in Gujarat, and will be released on October 5.
