Video: Could Donald Trump win the Nobel Peace Prize?
An interview with Henrik Syse, former vice-chair of the Nobel Peace Prize Committee.
Could Donald Trump win the Nobel Peace Prize? How can India continue to grow rapidly while creating enough jobs? What should young Indians keep in mind as they step into leadership roles?
These are some of the questions explored in the inaugural episode of Global Ring, as Henrik Syse, former vice-chair of the Nobel Peace Prize Committee, speaks to author Archish Mittal.
Following US President Trump’s speech at the World Economic Forum 2026 in Davos in which he outlined proposals for peace in Gaza and announced his “Peace Board” initiative, Syse offers insights on approaches to peace, diplomacy and the preservation of human dignity.
Drawing on his experience as former head of corporate governance at Norges Bank Investment Management, the world’s largest sovereign wealth fund, Syse also reflects on India’s economic rise, the challenge of employment generation and India’s evolving role as a global power.
Global Ring is an interview series that brings experts from business, academia and policy to share insights on the issues shaping our world.
