Chinese phone maker Xiaomi is gearing up for a global launch event scheduled to be held on July 24th in Madrid. The company on its community forum has invited interested MI fans to participate in the global event to witness the launch of its latest Xiaomi device.

Though MI, Xiaomi’s logo for Mobile Internet, hasn’t spilled any details about the ‘latest’ device but the speculations by several sources suggest the device will likely be Xiaomi Mi A2.

Xiaomi Mi A2 is expected to share its hardware with Xiaomi Mi 6X but run a stock Android, instead of the in-house MIUI. That means the phone is likely to feature all-metal design, an IPS LCD display unit coupled with dual rear camera and a 20MP front camera.

The leaked renders reported by SlashLeaks confirms the similarities of the Xiaomi Mi A2 and Mi 6X, which was launched in China earlier this year. The MI X6 boasted a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC chipset, facial recognition, and plenty of other AI-assisted features.

The chance for fans to attend the event is limited through registration-only which ends on July 18th. MI categorically mentions that it would contact ‘selected’ fans who have applied to participate in the event. The selected fans will have to fund their individual transportation and lodging expenses, the MI forum states.
