While everyone had their attention fixated towards the Galaxy Note 9 launch at Samsung’s unpacked event, the company sneakily released a hands-on experience video for their flagship tablet, the Galaxy Tab S4, to be unveiled at the event in New York on August 9th. Earlier reports hinted at a likely launch, but now Samsung has made it official.

Notably, With the Galaxy Tab S4, Samsung is bringing Samsung DeX to the tablet for the first time. When connected to the optional Book Cover Keyboard, which will be sold separately, or launched from the Quick Panel, the Galaxy Tab S4 powers Samsung DeX, giving users the option to switch from the Android interface to a desktop experience. This is line with Samsung’s goal of getting more done on the go with the tablet.

The Galaxy Tab S4 introduction video features two executives from Samsung Electronics’ product marketing division showcasing the variety of features on this premium device while unveiling the device specifications.

The Galaxy Tab S4 is touted to be slimmer than the previous model, it has narrower bezels and it gets a large 10.5-inch super AMOLED screen. And to enhance the viewer experience, the device has also been equipped with four pod speakers.

The novel screen off memo feature is sure to delight fans, but it is the powerful 7,300mAh battery, which can provide up to 16 hours of video playback, as per Samsung’s claims, and this will likely seal the deal as the perfect package. There isn’t a home button though, meaning the tablet must be unlocked using face or iris recognition or a screen-based unlock feature only.

The Galaxy Tab S4 is available in 64GB and 256GB models and memory is expandable up to 400GB. The WiFi version of the Tab S4 will be available in the US starting at $649.99 on August 10th, 2018, on Amazon, Best Buy and Samsung.com.

The LTE version of the Galaxy Tab S4 will also be available for purchase starting August 10th, 2018 at Verizon, and also from other major wireless providers including AT&T, Sprint and US Cellular later in Q3 2018.

Samsung’s premium flagship tablet is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset and is equipped with 4GB of RAM. The tablet gets a 13-megapixel camera at the back and an 8-megapixel snapper at the front.

The device also gets a massive 7,300mAh battery with adaptive fast charging feature. The S-pen comes as an added accessory with the device and it runs on the Android 8.1 operating system.
