A monsoon depression over Madhya Pradesh brought incessant rain that triggered flash floods in parts of the state from Thursday. The Meteorological Department reported heavy to extreme rainfall in the eastern and western parts of the state.

Of the affected areas, the worst hit is Satna, where 400 mm of rainfall was recorded from Tuesday to Thursday. Many houses were inundated and several people stranded, reported ANI.

For Friday, the Met department has predicted heavy to very heavy rain in isolated places across Madhya Pradesh, reported Business Line. According to Skymet Weather, the depression is slow-moving and is expected to continue affecting the region over the next 24 to 48 hours.
