Chhattisgarh: IED blast injures four jawans, Maoist involvement suspected
Authorities rushed reinforcements to the area after the blast, and the injured personnel were being evacuated.
At least four District Reserve Guard jawans were injured in a blast in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district on Saturday, PTI reported. Maoist insurgents are suspected to be behind the attack, the police said.
Deputy Inspector General of Police Sundarraj P told the agency that the explosion occurred in a forest near Sirsetti village, under the Fulbagdi police station limits, when the security personnel were conducting an anti-Maoist operation.
Authorities rushed reinforcements to the area after the blast, and the injured personnel were being evacuated, Sundarraj said.
On March 13, suspected Maoists killed nine Central Reserve Police Force jawans in Sukma, when the forces were carrying out search operations.
